My Approach
Gathered is the culmination of my interests, passions, knowledge and skills as I came to the end of my degree. As a self-initiated project, this term gave me the opportunity to exercise my creativity, experiment with techniques, receive feedback for improvement and show the world what I am capable of making. I applied the design thinking process, with phases to empathise, define, ideate, prototype and test. In this process, I developed Gathered — a day-to-night dining destination offering a space for Rockhampton locals to enjoy community and good service. My goal was to create a full visual identity for this cafe and restaurant, including a brand mark, style guide and collateral. Through this project, I honed my technical skills and creative process and crafted a brand that genuinely resonates with its intended audience.
